The 10th anniversary of Momentum: Excellence at the Speed of Dance, a year-long in-school program that uses dance to teach elementary students self-discipline and teamwork, and engages children to think creatively, will be celebrated with performances of "Moving Lives! A Year in the Life of a Momentum Dancer," Tuesday, May 14th and Friday, May 17th at The Capitol Theatre in the Riffe Center (77 South High Street). There are two hour-long performances each day, the first at 10:30 a.m. followed by a performance at 1 p.m. THE PERFORMANCES ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis on the day of the show.

The Momentum program includes weekly dance classes during the school year. The lessons incorporate an academic component, integrating Ohio Department of Education Dance content standards.
Momentum is based on a national dance outreach initiative. Now in its tenth year, Momentum has evolved to meet the needs of the centralOhio community. Momentum uses dance and music to teach children the life skills of striving for excellence, self-discipline and teamwork, while enhancing knowledge of academic areas. Participants also gain health benefits and movement skills which contribute to overall personal development and wellness.
