The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, begins its 45th season at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.) on Friday, June 5, with the classic Gene Kelly musical Singing' in the Rain.

Sunday, June 12, 2 pm & 7:30 pm

Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds

Often considered the greatest of all Hollywood musicals, this tune-filled comedy spoofs the chaos in Hollywood during the transition from silent to sound, and includes musical gems "Good Morning," "Broadway Melody," "Make 'Em Laugh," and of course, "Singin' in the Rain."

Clark Wilson, official organist for the CAPA Summer Movie Series, celebrates his 25th anniversary with the Series, providing pre-show and intermission entertainment at the keys of the Ohio Theatre's "Mighty Morton" theatre organ 30 minutes prior to show time.

Wilson has been named in numerous Who's Who and Men of Achievement editions and was the 1998 American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS) Organist of the Year. An acclaimed organ technician and consultant, he has also been professionally involved with more than 200 pipe organ installations to date and has earned the ATOS Technician of Merit award, the only person to receive both ATOS distinctions.

The 2016 CAPA Summer Movie Series is made possible through the generous support of PVS Chemicals.
