FOREVER TANGO WITH DIEGO EL CIGALA is coming to Teatro Mayor in Colombia on February 5th, 2019.
FOREVER TANGO reviews the history of the birth of tango in nineteenth-century Argentina, where thousands of men, after leaving a disintegrating Europe to emigrate to South America, found themselves in the overcrowded slaughterhouses, the bars and the corners of the suburbs (peripheral neighborhoods) and enramadas (brothels) "porteñas". Tango was born from this lonely and violent existence.
Age: For all public
Sensual and sophisticated, tango lives in a world where everything can be said with a leg movement, the tug of a hand, the touch of a foot and the arch of an eyebrow. Created and directed by Luis Bravo, FOREVER TANGO was chosen as Best Musical Touring by Bay Area Theater Critics Circle in San Francisco, where he played 92 unprecedented weeks at the Theater on the Square and has returned season after season. Truly an international event, FOREVER TANGO received the coveted Simpatia Award at the 1996 Spoleto Festival in Italy.
FOREVER TANGO Guest Diego El Cigala has fourteen world-class tango dancers, a vocalist and an orchestra on the stage of eleven pieces, including the tango instrument, the Bandoneón, in an evening that celebrates the passionate music and dance of Argentina. The dances, interpreted with original and traditional music, are the result of the collaboration between each couple and the director / creator Bravo.
"Tango is a feeling you dance, a story you tell in three minutes, it's passionate, melancholy, it's tender, violent, you dance with someone, but it's so internal that you dance alone. More than a simple dance, tango is music, a drama, a culture, a way of life ", says Bravo.
