CWRU Department of Theater Presents: The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare

Rival cities, threats of execution, broken families, a troubled marriage, grief and anger, frequent violence, and a beheading, oh my! You’d be concerned if it weren’t so hilarious.  The Comedy of Errors is light, frothy entertainment, driven by coincidence and slapstick humor.

Comedy and confusion abound when two sets of twins, separated by a shipwreck decades prior, happen to appear in the same town and (naturally) happen to be wearing the same clothing! The new arrivals cause a series of incidents of mistaken identity in Shakespeare’s wonderfully predictable and entertaining comedy.
