About the play: Provocative and relevant, “The Value of Names" explores the ramifications of the McCarthy-era blacklist on those directly affected. The focus is on Benny, a successful Hollywood and New York actor, who is forced to confront his past when his estranged partner and friend comes back into his life. Themes of forgiveness, family, and identity all are intertwined in this superbly written play.
