Speaker Series: Lunch & Learn BRAINSTORMS at The Avalon Theatre

The Avalon Theatre, in conjunction with Impact60, is thrilled to announce the Ohio premiere of the award-winning short film "Brainstorms" directed by Julie Pacino. This premiere is a part of the Avalon Speaker Series and will take place at noon on Wednesday, November 15th. The $10 ticket price includes a box lunch, the Ohio premiere, and expert speakers, following the screening to discuss the content and message of the film.

“Brainstorms” is an experiential look inside the mind of Brian, a veteran, who has sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) during combat. The film follows Brian’s struggle returning to home life with his wife and daughter. While experiencing a panic attack in a hospital parking garage, Brian meets a young VA nurse named Danielle who is in the process of recovering from her own TBI.

This event will feature a group of speakers to discuss the themes of this short film and address concerns, outreach, care, and workforce training opportunities for veterans, and TBI education, including:

Chrisanne Gordon, M.D., Founder, Resurrecting Lives Foundation
Cory L. Hixon, U.S. Marines 1st Battalion, 8th Marines, Scout Sniper Platoon veteran

Tickets to this event are $10 per person with the proceeds set to benefit the Resurrecting Lives Foundation. Resurrecting Lives Foundation advocates for veterans with Traumatic Brain Inquiries (TBI) within their local communities, assisting their local hospitals and clinics to provide services and support to families and friends who are helping these young men and women move forward.
