MOZART Piano Concerto No. 25 ELGAR Symphony No. 1 The Cleveland Orchestra Many musicians and listeners consider Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 25 to be one of his finest creations, a remarkable example of Classical-era balance and clarity. Swiss pianist Francesco Piemontesi, called “a Mozartian to cherish” (The Observer), breathes new life into this concerto alongside guest conductor Kazuki Yamada. Also on the program is Elgar’s First Symphony, an awe-inspiring orchestral statement that starts in quiet nobility before ending in blazing triumph. This program’s Concert Preview lectures will be presented by Caroline Oltmanns Professor of Piano, Youngstown State University.
