Teen heartthrob Conrad Birdie has been drafted into the army, so he chooses All-American girl Kim MacAfee for a very public farewell kiss. Featuring a tuneful, high-energy score — with such memorable songs as “Put on a Happy Face,” “One Last Kiss,” “One Boy,” “A Lot of Livin’ to Do,” “Kids!” and “Rosie” — and a hilarious script, Bye Bye Birdie continues to delight audiences after nearly 60 years since its debut.
