In anticipation of the upcoming four-week run of ‘Wicked' at Playhouse Square, WJW FOX8 in Cleveland will air a 30-minute special taking viewers backstage at the production.

According to press notes, the program will "reveal never-before-seen backstage footage including actor interviews and a detailed look on how the Broadway spectacular came to be. Wicked's creative team, including Academy and Grammy Award-winning Composer/Lyricist Stephen Schwartz, explains how the best-selling 1995 novel by Gregory Maguire was brought to the Broadway stage."

The special will air Saturday, Oct. 10 at 2 PM and again on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1:30 PM.

Called "one of the most successful shows in Broadway history" by The New York Times and "a phenomenon that keeps growing" by the Los Angeles Times, 'Wicked' continues to thrill audiences around the world. There are currently eight productions of 'Wicked' worldwide, including two North American tours, a Broadway production, San Francisco production, London production, a Japanese-language production, a German-language production and Australian production. A Dutch-language production of WICKED will open in 2011.

‘Wicked' opens at PlayhouseSquare on Nov. 8. For tickets visit www.playhousesquare.org or call (216) 241-6000.
