Former Saturday Night Live writer (and three-time Emmy nominee) Paul Barrosse and his actress wife, Victoria Zielinski, star in The Vic & Paul Show, an original two-person comedy revue with music that will play July 12-14th at Playhouse Square's The 14th Street Theatre.
Both veterans of Chicago's celebrated Practical Theatre Company, Vic and Paul perform what they call "An Evening of Comedy, Music, Marriage & Martinis." It is two hours of grown-up fun: somewhere between Nick & Nora and Nichols & May (if they were a couple of over-50 parents with grown kids). The Vic & Paul Show was hailed by The Chicago Tribune as "Old-school sketch comedy done right".
Married since 1990, Cleveland native Barrosse along with Chicago-born Zielinski have lived and worked the past two decades in Los Angeles as Emmy-nominated television producers on such series as Totally Hidden Video, Behind the Music and Little People, Big World. Now, after raising three children "from diapers to diplomas" they're back to doing what they did before they got married: writing and performing sophisticated improvisational comedy sketches and music.
Vic & Paul are joined by their musical director, Emmy-winner Steve Rashid, who accompanies them on keyboards and performs his own brand of satirical songwriting.
The Vic & Paul Show made its debut in Los Angeles in the summer of 2010 before playing Chicago in 2011 for limited engagements at The Prop Theatre and Mayne Stage.
Tickets go on sale at 11 am May 29, priced at $30 & $25 and available at playhousesquare.org, the Ticket Office or 216-241-6000.
