Shadowbox has decided to put off the debut of their new, original musical "Woodstock: Back to the Garden" until September 2009. The multi-faceted performance ensemble will produce several special events this summer in lieu of the musical, which is now slated to open on October 4, 2009.

The original book, based on documentary footage leading up to and including the event is currently being written by Shadowbox head writer Jimmy Mak and, executive producer Steve Guyer has already selected songs from the festival itself, but time constraints have put the project on hold for the summer months.
"When you do an original you want to do it right," said Guyer. "We're really excited about this project and we want to give it the time it needs to be what we hope will be one of Shadowbox's landmark pieces."
What's being called a documentary musical, "Woodstock: Back to the Garden" will run Sundays at 2:30 and 7:00 PM from October 4 - November 15th.
