Steinway artist Joel Hastings, assistant professor of piano at Florida State University, and winner of the 1993 International Bach Competition at the Kennedy Center, will present the music of Carter Pann in a guest artist series concert at 8 pm Wednesday, January 16, in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd. Composer, pianist, and Grammy Award nominee Carter Pann teaches composition at the University of Colorado and will join Hastings on the program, entitled "The Piano's 12 Sides: The Piano Music of Carter Pann."
Selections include The Piano's 12 Sides, a work written for Hastings; The Bills: William Albright - A Concert Rag (In Memoriam) and William Bolcom - An Elaborate Fancy; The Cheesegrater (A Mean Two-Step); Your Touch (Cadenza movement from Piano Concerto No.1); and Circumnavigator for two pianos.
