Playhouse Square and ?Baldwin Wallace University have combined resources to present the regional premiere of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. The production will be at Playhouse Square's Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre and will run May 1-3, 2015. The show will be directed by Victoria Bussert and choreographed by Gregory Daniel, with music direction by David Pepin.
SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER is the smash hit musical inspired by the 1977 film featuring songs from the legendary film soundtrack by the Bee Gees. Saturday Night Fever tells the story of a Brooklyn youth who escapes his otherwise dreary life by being King of the local Discotheque. The show is filled with Top-10 hit songs that characterized the 1970's disco era, including "Stayin' Alive," "Night Fever," "You Should Be Dancing," and "Jive Talkin'." The hit disco songs and exciting choreography combined with a deep story line ensure this to be a musical production you do not want to miss!?
This is the eighth year of collaboration between a cast of renowned BWU music theatre students, arts management students, and Playhouse Square. The production features current Baldwin Wallace students such as Genna-Paige Kanango as Stephanie Mangano, and Sam Wolfe as Tony Manero.
Performances for SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER will be held Friday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, May 2 at 5:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.; and Sunday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are general admission and priced at just $25 each. Tickets can be purchased by calling 216-241-6000 or online at www.playhousesquare.org.
