Children of the community will get a chance to shine and strut their stuff in Playhouse South's production of "Kids in the Spotlight," directed by Dawn Roth Smith, with music direction by Joan Reynolds. Performances will be held April 17 and 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the PHS/Clark Hines Theatre, 3700 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering.

This special show will highlight various Broadway-style tunes including "Whistle a Happy Tune" (The King & I), "You Can't Stop the Beat" (Hairspray), "We Go Together" (Grease) and many others. You won't want to miss a minute!

Playhouse South will be presenting an exciting musical theatre workshop for youth, grades 7-12. This will be an intensive workshop covering all aspects of musical theatre. This will be a six week workshop meeting 10-2 on Saturdays from May 2, 2009-June 6, 2009. Participants will be asked to bring their own lunch.

This program is absolutely free. Space is limited to 10 participants and spaces will be filled based on audition. Auditions will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday April 18. Auditioners are asked to prepare a one minute monologue and a song not to exceed one minute. Pianist and/or CD player will be available.
