Grand Hotel written by Luther Davis, Robert Wright & George Forrest. Additional lyrics and music by Maury Yeston.
1928. Berlin. At Grand Hotel the guests and staff are suffering from an excess of hope and optimism as the stock market booms. The city's decadent high life is in full swing. Inspired by Vickie Baum's landmark novel about a Berlin hotel in Weimar, Germany, and the Oscar-winning film starring Greta Garbo and John Barrymore, Maury Yeston's musical contributions join those of original authors Wright and Forrest to create a masterful portrayal of six disparate and desperate characters - all linked by being in the same hotel on the same day and night.
