48:Madlab Goes to the Movies

Synopsis

In November of 2008, we brought you 48 in '08. It dealt with politics. Remember?: http://www.madlab.net/MadLab/48in08.html. Well, we're doing it again. This time, it's all about the movies. Well, one way or another. So, come check out Pulp 48, one of the final shows at MadLab's current space at 105 Grant Ave. before they move to their new space at 227 N. Third St.

The Columbus Foundation, The OAC and the GCAC supports MadLab throughout the year.

What's a "24?"

There are various ways to do a "24," but here is the way MadLab has been doing it: Take 6 writers, 6 directors and 20+ actors. Have them meet at 8 pm on Friday and divide them into teams. The actors show up in costume and with a prop and have their pictures taken. The writers leave with pictures in hand and will then have until 8am the next morning to write a 15 minute play. Then the actors and directors have a mere 10 hours to breathe life into that script so they can perform it 8 pm on Saturday night.
So, What's a 48?
It's 2 24s back-to-back. Kinda. Except in this instant, Madlab will perform the 1st 24 .Then, they're gonna shuffle the deck and writers will have to take another writers' Act 1 and write their Act 2 which will be performed on that Sunday.
