Helen Welch to Perform at Cain Park, 7/22

Cain Park is proud to present critically-acclaimed vocalist and entertainer Helen Welch on Friday, July 22 in the Alma Theater.

Tickets for this event, which begins at 7pm, are $18 advance and $21 day of show. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com (800-653-8000) or the Cain Park ticket office (216-371-3000). Cain Park is located at 14591 Superior Road in Cleveland Heights.

Concert goers can attend a Wine Tasting in the Alma Courtyard from 5:30 to 6:45 pm on July 22. Cost is $10 (21 & older). Wine tasting tickets can be purchased at the Cain Park Ticket Office (216-371-3000) or online through Ticketmaster. The Cain Park Wine Tasting Series is presented in partnership with The Wine Spot.

Cain Park is teaming up once again with The Stone Oven Bakery Café to offer a variety of picnic box dinners that can be ordered in advance of the event. Full menus and ordering instructions can be found on the Cain Park website or by calling 216-371-3000.

Helen will be performing an array of timeless songs including romantic classics such as "Yesterday," "Here There and Everywhere," and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Swinging renditions of "Can't Buy Me Love"; fun duets such as "When I'm 64"; Latin grooves on "Norwegian Wood"; and "Ticket to Ride" and "Hard Day's Night" sung as never heard before! Helen will be joined by pianist Joe Leaman, bassist Bryan Thomas and drummer Anthony Taddeo. Together they will re-visit these beautiful melodies with a blend of pop, jazz and blues that will inspire and remind that great music knows no boundaries.

A native of England, Helen Welch is well-known throughout the United Kingdom for her musical theater roles and one-woman shows. Helen has landed starring roles in a string of popular musicals including Hello Dolly!, Barnum, 42nd Street, Oliver Twist, Calamity Jane, Show Boat, and Carousel. She also made her pantomime debut as "Maid Marion" in Robin Hood, a traditional English Christmas show. Upon moving to the U.S. in 2003, she began appearing in venues throughout the Northeast. Her unique talents for choosing songs that stand the test of time and making them her own, and her ability to intimately engage her audience, quickly earned her a large and devoted following.

Cain Park, a municipally owned and operated summer arts park, is one of the nation's oldest landmark outdoor theatres, and 2016 marks its 78th season. Cain Park is produced by the City of Cleveland Heights and is located on Superior Road between Lee and South Taylor roads.
