More than 400 guests are expected on May 5, 2012 for Great Lakes Theater's STARRY, STARRY NIGHT Gala, an exuberant celebration commemorating the classic theater company's 50th anniversary, at the InterContinental Hotel. All proceeds benefit Great Lakes Theater's nationally acclaimed mainstage and educational programming that will impact more than 100,000 adults and students this season.
Great Lakes Theater's black tie optional, golden-year gala festivities commences with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 6:30 p.m., followed by an "Appetizer" of songs by acclaimed Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim performed, cabaret-style, by Broadway star Pamela Myers. The evening also includes "Limited Edition" live and silent auctions featuring one-of-a-kind items and experiences, a delicious double entrée dinner prepared by the world-class InterContinental Hotel culinary staff and dancing set to the sounds of the acclaimed show band, Rumplestiltskin.
STARRY, STARRY NIGHT's silent auction features dozens of amazing and unique items, highlighted by weekend theater trips to San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC and Denver, a special batting practice experience with the Indians, a private tour of the Lordstown Chevrolet plant to see the Cruze manufactured - among many others.
