Ethan Bortnick, the youngest performer ever to headline his own concert tour, brings his captivating new family music special LIVE to audiences around the country this spring on a 30-city concert tour. His Cleveland debut stop will be at PlayhouseSquare's Ohio Theatre, Sunday, May 11 at 3 pm. Tickets go on sale Wed., February 5 at 11 am at the Ticket Office, playhousesquare.org and 216-241-6000. Tickets prices will be $39, $29 & $20.
The young musical sensation, named one of Oprah's "All Time Smartest, Most Talented Kids," will be joined on the tour by special guest Damian McGinty of Glee and Celtic Thunder in a concert that highlights Ethan's belief that music can truly connect people, and ultimately, change the world.
Ethan has seen firsthand the power of music to manifest global change. At only 13 years old, he has already harnessed the power of music around the world to raise more than $30 million for charity. In 2010, Ethan joined icons such as Tony Bennett, Barbra Streisand, and Celine Dion in re-recording the benefit single "We Are the World" to aid victims of the Haiti earthquake. Due to his extraordinary impact on the world, Ethan was invited to be a part of GAP's global campaign and was featured on the cover of Esquire magazine. Ethan knows the inspirational power of music to create positive change, and it is that power and unifying energy that Ethan is now bringing to live audiences around the country.
An evening at one of Ethan's concerts fills audiences with joy and brings them to their feet. In this magical concert, Ethan performs a range of music that appeals to people of all ages. Hear songs from The Beatles to Elton John to Broadway, from Chopin to Neil Diamond, from Michael Jackson to Motown to rock 'n roll, and everything in between. Ethan will also perform several of his own songs, including some from the recently released movie ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE, in which he starred, co-scored, and wrote 10 songs. He will also involve the audience in the show, compose music on the spot, put together songs instantly using audience stories/ideas, and answer questions during a Q&A segment at each concert. Never before has a show delighted audiences with such unmatched talent, heart, and joy.
Ethan not only stars in The Power of Music, but he also created the entire show. Billy Joel's Musical Director, Dave Rosenthal, renowned globally for his work including more than twenty years working with Joel, acted as Ethan's Musical Director for this extraordinary program.
Damian, who will join Ethan on stage, has not toured since he left Celtic Thunder in 2010. The popular 21-year-old Irish singer and actor will perform the songs he sang in Ethan's PBS special, and maybe even some new songs he has never before performed live. Fans nationwide are eagerly awaiting the young singer's return to the stage with his charm, infectious energy and rich, beautiful voice.
Also joining Ethan and Damian on stage are a dynamic band, the R.O.C.c.K Children's Choir & Aurora City Schools, and local surprise guest artists.
