ENSEMBLE THEATRE continues it's 2013-2014 Season with the 3rd Annual Colombi New Plays Festival! Dedicated to the memories of Christopher, Lucia, & Licia Colombi, the New Plays Festival brings you new works by Cleveland playwrights all March long!
The 2014 Colombi New Plays Festival is dedicated to the Memory of Eben Gulick.
The 4 Productions that are included in this years Festival are as follows:
FOR THE LOVE OF A LEICA by Cynthia Dettelbach
Directed by
Brian Zoldessy
(Peformed in the Main Stage Theatre)
Starring: Bob Keefe, Pamela Harwood, Kevin LaMonica, Joseph Milan, and
James Rankin.
Amidst the chaos of World War II, one man's obsession with a Leica camera tears apart a Jewish family...and ultimately provides its salvation. FOR THE LOVE OF A LEICA is a coming-of-age story based on actual events.
The play runs March 13th, 15th, 21st, 27th, and 29th at 8pm and March 23rd at 2pm.
ZEBEDIAH by Barbara Harkness
Directed by Martin Cosentino
(Performed in the Main Stage Theatre)
Starring: Bob Keefe, Lynna Metrisin, Becca Jean Moseley, Jeffrey Sneed, Nick Hahn, Emily Kenville, and Clifton Holznagel.
Can Alice Ann save her daughter Effie? This historical look at justice in a small mining community will provoke many a post show conversation. ZEBEDIAH runs March 14th, 20th, 22nd, and 28th at 8pm and March 16th and 30th at 2pm.
LIVES OF THE SAINTS by Jean Cummins
Directed by Celeste Cosentino
(Performing in the Playground Theatre)
Starring: Rose Leininger, Stephen Vasse-Hansell, Joseph Milan, Marcia Mandell, and Kate Duffield.
Five elderly Irish brothers and sisters try to put the kibosh on their niece's long over due romance. LIVES OF THE SAINTS runs March 20th, 22nd, 28th, April 3rd, and 5th at 8pm and March 30th at 2pm.
ROADKILL by Ed Walsh
Directed by Ian Wolfgang Hinz
(Performing in the Playground Theatre)
Starring: Becca Frick, Aaron D. Elersich, Denis Burby, Eric Fancher, Whit Lowell and Luke Powers.
The mines are closing but the casino is as popular as ever. When Curly and Travis learn what their friend Blaine found alongside a West Virginia coal country road it looks as if their bad luck is a thing of the past, they're wrong. ROADKILL runs March 21st, 27th, 29th, and April 4th at 8pm and March 23rd and April 6th at 2pm.
