Cleveland Heights has had a long history of amazing individuals who have resided within its borders. Each and member of the community has a "story" about themselves and their place in history. On June 15 watch history come alive as Cleveland Heights seniors bring "Our Stories: Portrayals of Life" to the Alma stage. This free performance will take place in Cain Park's Alma Theater at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Seating is general admission and no tickets are required.

Cain Park is teaming up once again with The Stone Oven Bakery Café to offer a variety of picnic box dinners that can be ordered in advance of the event. Full menus and ordering instructions can be found on the Cain Park website or by calling 216-371-3000.

"Our Stories: Portrayals of Life" was developed as a storytelling class to give Cleveland Heights seniors in the community an opportunity to speak, listen, remember and connect. Over the course of 12 weeks the group met regularly with structured topics to recall stories from their own personal lives. Participants were able to celebrate each other's achievements, discuss differences and find surprising parallels. Joanna May Hunkins, who served as Coordinator of the event, described it as "not so much a performance as it is a final reflection, members of the group will get together one last time to share their favorite antics with family and friends." This free afternoon of comical and bittersweet memories is sure to move people and inspire them to share their own stories with loved ones.

Cain Park 2016 season sponsors include the Ohio Arts Council, The Westin Downtown Cleveland, oWOWNOW.com, and Motorcars Honda/Toyota/Scion. Our Stories: Portrayals of Life is made possible by a grant from the Ohio Arts Council.

Cain Park, a municipally owned and operated summer arts park, is one of the nation's oldest landmark outdoor theatres, and 2016 marks its 78th season. Cain Park is produced by the City of Cleveland Heights and is located on Superior Road between Lee and South Taylor roads.
