"You're going to be your own special self. You're going to occupy that space if it kills you." These lines spoken in Edward Albee's biographical drama OCCUPANT might reflect on his own life and work. The play, a tribute to Louise Nevelson, the renowned American sculptor, will make its Cesear's Forum regional premier in a limited September/October engagement at Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, Cleveland, Ohio. Best known for large monochromatic wooden pieces, Nevelson solidified her fame and persona late in life, cultivating a personal style based on purpose and perseverance. Edward Albee, the leading American playwright of his generation, has been confounding, challenging and stimulating theater audiences for almost half a century. In OCCUPANT, through a Q. & A. format, Albee's droll humor and unabashed scrutiny explores individual veracity, selective memory and the process of self-fulfillment.

The Cleveland production features Julia Kolibab and George Roth (as probing guide and interviewer). The production will be staged by Artistic Director Greg Cesear, with a setting by Laura Carlson Tarantowski, lighting by Andrew Kaletta and costumes by Aimee Kluiber. The production is sponsored, in part, by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and the Bonne Bell Family Foundation.

Edward Albee's OCCUPANT tonight, September 19th through October 25th, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm, two Sunday Matinees at 3 pm, September 28th & October 12th, Kennedy's Down Under, PlayhouseSquare, 1501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH, Call 216-241-6000 or visit www.playhousesquare.org.
