Canton Symphony Orchestra and Pro Football Hall of Fame Present 'Soundtracks of the Gridiron' Concert, 10/15

CANTON, OHIO (September 8, 2015) - Two organizations that focus on excellence will join together to present a one-of-a-kind concert event, on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 8:00pm. "Soundtracks of the Gridiron", narrated by Gold Jacket Lynn Swann and performed by the Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO) will be produced by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. This exciting night will feature some of the greatest music of America's most popular sport and will take place in Umstattd Performing Arts Hall (2323 17th Street NW, Canton). Music Director Gerhardt Zimmermann will conduct the orchestra.

"An event like this can only happen in Canton," Hall of Fame President, David Baker stated. "We have a world class orchestra housed right here in the shadow of the Hall of Fame. Celebrating the excellence, history and tradition of the game with the Canton Symphony will be a very special evening!"

The program for the concert will include pieces from football-themed movies such as "Rudy" and "The Blind Side", and classics from NFL broadcasts, including The Lombardi Trophy Super Bowl Theme by Emmy Award winning composer David Robidoux and Touchdown Suite by Tom Hedden. Hall of Fame Executive Producer George Veras will produce football videos for the large screen, synchronized to the live orchestrations and will also write the show's script.

Swann, who was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001, will narrate portions of the show, as well as attend a special VIP reception before the concert. VIP ticket holders will enjoy a pre-concert Meet and Greet with Swann in the Zimmermann Symphony Center. Swann, best known for his speed, graceful movements and tremendous leaping ability, played nine years as a wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers and was the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl X.

Tickets for the concert range from $25-$50. VIP tickets are $100 and include Gold level seating and the pre-concert Meet and Greet. There are senior, student and group discounts available for single tickets. Founded in 1937, the Canton Symphony Orchestra is a fully professional ensemble and organization dedicated to performing concerts that enrich, educate and entertain.
