Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is proud to honor Rick Chiricosta (chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Medical Mutual of Ohio) with the 2018 PAN Award, recognizing all the accomplishments he and Medical Mutual have achieved in the Greater Cleveland community.
CPT is thrilled to present Pandemonium 2018-CPT's annual benefit and theatrical spectacular-on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 7:00pm through midnight. The Pandemonium 2018 theme is "Labyrinth of Desire."
Guests enjoy complimentary valet, drinks, and delicious food from some of Cleveland's top chefs, alongside breathtaking entertainment in every corner of CPT's campus. Pandemonium is a uniquely immersive "choose-your-own-adventure" style event, featuring nearly 300 Northeast Ohio artists premiering over 50 original works and musical acts on 20 different stages and in unexpected places. About the 2018 Pan Award Honoree: Rick Chiricosta
Rick Chiricosta is chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Medical Mutual of Ohio. He originally joined Medical Mutual in 1986 as controller of the Western Division. In 1989, he became chief financial officer for Medical Life Insurance Company, then a wholly owned subsidiary of Medical Mutual. Mr. Chiricosta held that position until 1998, when he left Medical Life to become vice president and chief financial officer for National Interstate Corporation, a specialty property and casualty insurance company. In 1999, he returned to Medical Mutual as vice president of Finance, was named president and chief executive officer in 2009, and was elected chairman in 2013.
Under Mr. Chiricosta's leadership, Medical Mutual supports organizations that make a positive impact in many Ohio communities. Locally, the company sponsors a variety of organizations and initiatives, from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cleveland to the RTA HealthLine. In 2017, Medical Mutual made more than 400 donations to nonprofits, and 28 members of the executive staff served on nonprofit boards.
Mr. Chiricosta serves as chairman of the Greater Cleveland Partnership and on the boards of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Kidney Foundation of Ohio. He is a member of the executive committees on the boards of the United Way of Greater Cleveland and the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. He is also a member of the Cuyahoga County Early Childhood Education Partnership Council. Mr. Chiricosta is a past president of The 50 Club of Cleveland, served as a co-chair of the 2012 United Way of Greater Cleveland campaign, and is a graduate of the 2006 class of Leadership Cleveland. He was inducted into the Northeast Ohio Business Hall of Fame in 2011.
