Broadway actor Corey Mach, seen in Hands on a Hardbody and Godspell, as well as on tour in Wicked, Rent and Flashdance, will hold a masterclass on October 29 centered on the musical theater audition. He is currently in Cleveland starring as "Quasimodo" in Great Lakes Theatre's acclaimed production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Mach will work with performers one-on-one, giving crucial tips on how to conquer the audition room with ease, personality, and professionalism. The class will conclude with a Q&A. This will be a fun, laid back, and hugely informative day containing a wealth of information about musical theater.
Actors should prepare two 32-bar cuts of two contrasting songs that show personality and range. An accompanist will be provided. Additionally, there is a discounted rate to observe and not participate; in order to take part, actors must be ages 14 and up.
Mach's Broadway credits include Hands on a Hardbody and Godspell (Jesus/Judas standby). Off-Broadway, he has lead the casts of Invisible Thread at Second Stage Theatre (directed by Diane Paulus) and CHIX 6 at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. On tour, he's performed in Wicked (First National), Flashdance the Musical (First National), and Rent. Regionally, he just completed Mrs. Miller Does Her Thing with Debra Monk and Boyd Gaines at Signature Theatre (directed by James Lapine), Tim Rice's From Here To Eternity at Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, and Sara Bareilles' Waitress at American Repertory Theatre, as well as Pippin ("Pippin"), Violet ("Monty"), Harold & Maude ("Harold"), Andrew Lippa's Wild Party ("Burrs"), and I Love You Because ("Austin"). Mach also founded the acclaimed NYC concert series Broadway Sings.
