Brecksville Theater On The Square announces the second mainstage production of its 42nd season: Next to Normal.

Next to Normal is a rock opera written by Brian Yorkey (book/lyrics) and Tom Kitt (music) concerning a mother who struggles with bipolar disorder and the effect of the illness on her family. It addresses not only the disease, but the family's attempts to alleviate it, as well as deal with grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry and the underbelly of suburban life. It won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and three Tony Awards in 2009, with eleven nominations.

Directed by Ian Atwood and music directed by Matthew Grittner, this story is brought to life by some of the area's finest talent:Dawn Sniadak-Yamokoski, Michael Snider, Isabel Billinghurst, Dan Hoy, Michael Knobloch and Dan Folino (appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity).Show times are as follows: April 29-30,May 6-8, May 13-15; Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30, with Sunday matinees at 2:00.

Performances will be held at the Old Town Hall theater on Public Square in Brecksville, at the corner of Ohio Routes 21 and 82. The theater is handicapped-accessible. Tickets are $14 available online at www.btots.org, or at the door. There is no service charge for buying tickets online. Seating for all shows is reserved.
