"Imagination" The Best of Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival comes to Cain Park on July 20 from noon to 2:30pm. A Dobama theater tradition, the Marilyn Bianchi Kids' Playwriting Festival is entering its 38th year of producing plays written by kids! Hundreds of plays are submitted by students throughout Cuyahoga County, grades 1 - 12. Dedicated to the memory of Marilyn Bianchi, the festival is the nation's first event of its kind, encouraging kids to celebrate the fun and joy of Live Theatre!
Tickets for this event, which begins at 12pm, are $8 for adults, $5 for children (no discounts). Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com (800-653-8000) or the Cain Park ticket office (216-371-3000). Cain Park is located at 14591 Superior Road in Cleveland Heights.
Five to six adult actors will perform plays that were submitted for the 2016 Festival and three additional plays will be selected from 38 years of submissions to the Playwriting Festival. Plays that will be performed include: The Circus Pilot by Ruby Tugeau, 4th grade, Roxboro Elementary School (Cleveland Heights). Pizza Play by Christian Mosley, 4th grade, Onaway Elementary School (Shaker Heights). Attack of the Village by Harrison Vandall, 5th grade, Boulevard Elementary School (Cleveland Heights). Appropriate for all ages. Refreshments, games and activities will take place in the Alma Courtyard before and after the performance.

Cain Park, a municipally owned and operated summer arts park, is one of the nation's oldest landmark outdoor theatres, and 2016 marks its 78th season. Cain Park is produced by the City of Cleveland Heights and is located on Superior Road between Lee and South Taylor roads.
