Beck Center for the Arts' Creative Arts Therapies Department is pleased to present two screenings of the documentary Kelly's Hollywood at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2015, in the Music & Dance Building. Due to popular demand, a 6 p.m. screening has been added after the original 3 p.m. screening quickly sold out. The film is free, but reservations are required at beckcenter.org or 216.521.2540 x10. A Q&A session with director Brian Donovan will immediately follow each screening. Kelly's Hollywood has a run-time of 82-minutes and is rated PG-13.

Kelly's Hollywood begins as Brian, a native of Buffalo, New York, chronicles his sister's visits to Los Angeles where he is pursuing his acting career. Kelly, born with Down syndrome, also dreams of performing in front of a live audience and becoming a Hollywood "diva." As Brian makes Kelly's dreams a reality, his relationship suffers as Kelly becomes increasingly jealous of his girlfriend. Faced with boundary ultimatums from his girlfriend and Kelly's health complications, Brian works to find balance between the two. Brian's friend, actor and Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon, says the film "is so full of heart. I laughed. I cried. It was absolutely riveting,"

Beck Center's Creative Arts Therapies Department is partnering with the Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities to present the film. "We are proud to partner with our long-time collaborators at the CCBDD to bring this moving and impactful film back to Northeast Ohio," remarked Associate Director of Creative Arts Therapies, Angel Foss, MT-BC. "Part of our mission at Beck Center is to assist individuals with special needs in maximizing their individual potential and Kelly's Hollywood demonstrates that potential in action."
