Beatles Tribute 1964 Coming to Playhouse Square, Today

Rolling Stone magazine calls 1964 - The Tribute "the best Beatles tribute on earth!" Since the early Eighties, 1964-The Tribute has been thrilling audiences around the globe by taking them on a journey through a quintessential moment in music history that will live forever.

A perennial favorite of Playhouse Square audiences, 1964 The Tribute returns to the Connor Palace for one 7:30 pm show Fri., October 23. (Tickets are $35, $29.50 & $10 Smart Seats, and go on sale Fri., July 17 at 11 am at the Ticket Office, playhousesquare.org and 216-241-6000.)

Over 20 years of researching and performing have made "1964" masters of their craft, hailed by critics and fans alike as THE most authentic and endearing Beatles tribute. "1964" recreates an early '60s live Beatles concert with period instruments, clothing, hairstyles and onstage banter with an accuracy that is unmatched.

What they thought would be a Beatles gig that would last for only a few lunch-time shows, has skyrocketed into a 20-plus-year continuous career that has found them performing for sold out audiences many times at Carnegie Hall and Red Rocks.

Two of the members of 1964-The Tribute have local connections: Mark Benson (who plays John Lennon) is from Akron, and Mac Ruffing (Paul McCartney) was born and reared near Cleveland. Benson and Tom Work (George Harrison) were founding members of 1964-The Tribute. In addition to Ruffing, they are now joined by Bobby Potter who plays Ringo Starr.
