The BroadwayWorld Student Center is a comprehensive Student Database listing college and university performing arts programs across the country making it easier for prospective students by showcasing programs searchable by schools, location, degrees and concentrations.

The Student Center also offers a show calendar of college and high-school productions where schools can upload photos, videos, cast lists, articles and other media content for each of their shows. BWW will be combing through all content regularly and will launch weekly feature stories highlighting productions locally and nationally that have provided us with this extra content.

This week, BroadwayWorld's Student Center is thrilled to feature the Department of Theatre at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio!
The Department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre as well as a graduate program leading up to a Master of Arts in Theater. Read up on each of the programs below!
The BA in Theatre builds on the strengths and values that are the heart of Miami's mission. In the liberal arts tradition, the core of the degree gives each major a chance to take courses in most areas of theatre - acting, design, history, dramatic theory, technology, and directing. You can have your degree your way by tailoring your coursework to explore your own interests. Choose from over 30 theatre electives to develop your own self-defined "focused study." Complete your focus with classes, an internship, or both.
Participate in productions as part of your degree. Our shows are cast and crewed with undergrads, and undergrads can design and direct in the production season. Work on department productions helps meet your "practicum" requirements. Learn from a faculty of working artists and scholars committed to helping you grow as students. Spend a semester abroad. Flexibility in the degree lets you participate in Miami's study abroad programs. Some theatre courses will also take you overseas to Russia, South Korea or the Czech Republic.
The Master of Arts at Miami is atwo-year program in Theatre Studies intended to prepare students for further study at the doctoral or M.F.A. level.

Build a strong foundation in the areas of performance theory and criticism, dramatic literature, and theatre history, and at the same time have the opportunity to explore and refine your skills as directors, playwrights, dramaturges, or designers.

At any given time, there are between seven and ten graduate students enrolled in the program, which allows faculty mentors to devote a significant amount of personalized attention.
Students come to our graduate program from throughout the U.S. and the world, with a wide variety of theatre and life experience, making the community here a diverse and exciting place to study.

Our recent graduates have consistently achieved success in prestigious Ph.D. and M.F.A. programs nationwide, while others have gone on to work in the professional theatre or to teach at the secondary level.

Upcoming productions include Bill Cain's 9 CIRCLES which will run February 27 thru March 3 in the Studio 88 Theatre. The Sondheim musical INTO THE WOODS will run April 14 to 28 at the Gates-Abegglen Theatre Center for Performing Arts.

Check out photos below from the school's 2011-2012 production season which included THE GLASS MENAGERIE, AS YOU LIKE IT, and BETTER LIVING.
