BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S and More Slated for Cleveland Orchestra's 2016-17 'At the Movies' Series

The Cleveland Orchestra announces a three-concert At the Movies series for the 2016-17 season.

Building on the popularity of film screenings with live music the past five seasons, the Orchestra continues the tradition with Nosferatu, It's a Wonderful Life, and Breakfast at Tiffany's.

All three movies will be projected on a giant screen above the Severance Hall stage, with music performed live.

Series subscribers will be given an opportunity to purchase tickets to a fourth movie, West Side Story, before they go on sale to the general public, at a discounted price. The film score to West Side Story will be performed live by The Cleveland Orchestra as part of its classical subscription series.

On Tuesday, October 25, just before Halloween, the classic 1922 silent horror film Nosferatu, an influential cinematic masterpiece starring Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok, will be presented with acclaimed organist Todd Wilson accompanying the film with improvised live music.

On Thursday, December 8, It's a Wonderful Life, the Frank Capra holiday film classic starring James Stewart, will be shown with the music of the soundtrack performed live by The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus, under the direction of guest conductor Brett Mitchell.

To close the series, on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14, The Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus, led by guest conductor Justin Freer, performs the musical score to the romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany's, starring Audrey Hepburn as the eccentric New York City playgirl Holly Golightly.

Subscribers to the At the Movies series can also choose to purchase tickets to the Orchestra's presentation of West Side Story (June 1 - 4, 2017) at a 20% savings off the individual ticket prices. The score to the film will be performed live by The Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by Brett Mitchell.

But, soon he uncovers the vulnerability she has at heart.

Subscriptions for the 2016-17 At the Movies series are on sale now, and start at $78 for a three-movie package, a savings of up to 20% off individual ticket prices. Subscribers to the At the Movies series will be given an opportunity to purchase tickets to the classical music series showing of West Side Story before they go on sale to the general public, at a discounted price.

The Severance Hall Ticket Office is located on street level in the Smith Lobby. The entrance and 15-minute Ticket Service parking are along the west side of the building, on East Boulevard. Severance Hall Ticket Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. From September through May, the Ticket Office is also open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed Sundays and holidays except for those days with performances, when the Ticket Office will be open three hours prior to each performance).
