Every year Theatre Raleigh depends on a team of dedicated interns to help make its Summer Series a success! We have worked with students (and recent graduates) from a variety of institutions, such as:

Production Internships:

Bud, Not Buddy (Family Series)

Seeking: Assistant Stage Manager, Spot Op

ASM starts Feb. 25th

All other positions start March 6th

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: Feb. 25-March 12

Production: March 13-29

Rehearsal schedule:

Tues-Fri, 5:30-10:30pm / Sat-Sun, 11am-4pm / Mondays off

Show schedule:

Fri. at 7pm / Sat. at 2pm & 7pm / Sun at 2pm / 10am weekday matinees (Tues-Fri) based on demand



Into The Breeches (2020 Summer Series)

Seeking: ASM, Dresser

ASM starts April 16th

All other positions start April 30th

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: April 16-May 5

Production: May 6-17

Anticipated rehearsal schedule:*

Mon-Fri, 5:30-10:30pm / Sat-Sun, 11am-4pm / Day off TBD

Show schedule:

Wed-Fri at 8pm / Sat at 2pm & 8pm / Sun at 3pm

Fun Home (2020 Summer Series)

Seeking: ASM, Dresser, Sound Intern, Spotlight Operators

ASM starts May 14th

All other positions start May 28th

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: May 14-June 2

Production: June 3-14

Mon-Fri, 5:30-10:30pm / Sat-Sun, 11am-4pm / Day off TBD

Show schedule:

Oh, What A Night! (2020 Summer Series)

Seeking: ASM, Sound Intern

ASM starts June 18th

All other positions start July 1st

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: June 18-July 7

Production: July 8-12

Anticipated rehearsal schedule:*

Peace of Clay (2020 Summer Series)

Seeking: ASM, Dresser

ASM starts July 9th

All other positions start July 23rd

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: July 9-28

Production: July 29-August 9

Chicago (2020 Summer Series)

Seeking: ASM, Dresser, Spotlight Operators, Sound Intern, Wigs Intern

ASM starts August 6th

All other positions start August 20th

Stipend: $25/week

Rehearsals: August 6-25

Production: August 26-Sept 6

Anticipated rehearsal schedule:*

Mon-Fri, 5:30-10:30pm / Sat-Sun, 11am-4pm / Day off TBD

Spring 2020 & Summer 2020 terms



Preference is given to applicants seeking full-semester internships (Spring = January-May / Summer = May-September). However, we will work with your school calendar!



Hours for administrative interns may vary, but we generally ask for a commitment of 12-15 hours per week.

* Assists the Technical Director on all set builds, load-ins/load-outs, and other projects throughout the summer.

FULL SUMMER SEASON commitment desired for this position.



Important Information

Interns may be hired for the fall/spring semesters, the summer season, or on a show-by-show basis. Please let us know your preference when applying.



In general, interns are paid a stipend of $25/week. Additional compensation is available for a full-season Technical Apprentice.



Unfortunately, housing is not available.
