The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey seeks an experienced Properties Supervisor for our 2020 season. Creativity, resourcefulness, and the ability to supervise a staff of professionals and interns required. Applicants must have skill and experience in painting, carpentry, craftwork, carving, sewing, and upholstery along with basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Knowledge of the NY/NJ area is helpful. Experience with mold making, casting, basic electrical wiring, and metalwork a plus. It is expected that the Properties Supervisor be extremely organized and generate all the necessary paperwork for budgeting, tracking, fabrication, and procurement. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety conscious, team player with a degree in technical theatre and at least 3 years professional experience as a Properties Master, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
