Kitchen Theatre Company’s (KTC) seeks applicants for its Resident Fellowship Program. This program is committed to training future generations of theater professionals. At the Kitchen, the fellows play a vital role in the production and administration process and are mentored by members of the staff. KTC fellows have gone on to MFA programs and to professional theater careers throughout the United States. Fellows are in residence for an entire season. Housing and a weekly stipend is provided.

Fellowships are available in the following areas:
Stage & Company Management - Work directly with the Resident Stage Manager as assistant stage manager with guest and resident creative teams. Involvement includes the full production process from pre-production through strike, as well as costume and prop organization and maintenance as needed. This position also works alongside the Production Coordinator to facilitate various aspects of production including light hangs, budgeting, calendar work, rentals, and more. There is also opportunity to stage manage Kitchen Sink productions. Additional duties include working alongside Managing Director to coordinate travel and housing for all visiting artists and to ensure their time at the Kitchen is the best it can me. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, as well as experience in props and/or costumes required. Experience in sound and/electrics a plus. Earn Equity Membership Candidacy (EMC) points.
Master Electrician & Props Master Fellowship - The M.E./Props Master is responsible for two major areas of production: Insuring the realization of the light plot, and procuring and/or creating props for the Kitchen Theater's season. As M.E. this individual will be responsible for hanging and circuiting the lighting units according to the plot. The M.E. works closely with the Lighting Designer during the focus sessions as either the board operator or as the person actually focusing the units. The M.E., under the supervision of the designer, is also responsible for the wiring of any practicals or scenic pieces that include lighting units. At the least, the Master Electrician, must be familiar with how to hang, circuit, focus, and change the lamp in any of the lighting units owned by The Kitchen Theatre. Including, but not limited to, both LED and Halogen lights. Knowing how to use accessories such as color, templates, and barndoors is also essential.

As “Central New York’s Off-Broadway Theater,” the Kitchen has a reputation for excellence in production quality as well as audience experience. Located in downtown’s west end, our LEED-certified green home includes an intimate 99-seat thrust stage space. KTC is an artistic home and safe haven for its artists.
