The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre offers a limited number of paid, season long internships to those who wish to work with its performance and production staff in an education program designed to prepare them to enter the professional theatre field. Students who have secured a degree in theatre, graduates, or other professionals actively pursuing careers in professional theatre are eligible to apply.
The Arkansas Arts Center Theatre interns should be self-confident, have a strong work ethic, be a natural team player, possess strong communication skills, take criticism and direction well, have the ability to multi-task, and know how to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre Summer Education Internship Program
The Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre is now accepting applications for its 2020 Summer Education Internship Program. Since 1979, the AAC Children's Theatre has been creating exceptional theatre for family audiences and providing education programs to students all over the state. The summer internships are for current college students and recent college graduates who are actively pursuing a career in theatre or theatre education. Interns will work alongside professional theatre artists and instructors and are a vital part of the AACCT community and team. Interns will gain experience in methods of teaching movement, voice & diction, and improvisation to students ages 6-18. Interns will also have the opportunity to work alongside costume, scenic, lighting, and properties designers as well as stage and program managers. Interns will gain invaluable theatre education experience, build their resume, and make connections with local theatre artists.

Internships are available June 15- August 7, 2020. Hours and expectations of the internship will vary upon assignment. Interns should expect to work at least 20 hours per week. Internships are unpaid. Housing and transportation are not provided.
