Take a break from the heat this summer and check out one of Cincinnati's summer theater options.  Here are some top picks:

Cincinnati Fringe Festival presented by The Know Theatre - May 29th thru June 9th   http://www.cincyfringe.com/

12 days of nonstop performances all around the Cincinnati area by local, regional, national and International Artists.  With over 30 shows to choose from, you're bound to find something of interest!  Check out the expansive digital guide to the festival on their website.

Next to Normal presented by Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati - June 15th thru July 1st  http://www.ensemblecincinnati.org

Returning for an encore after a widely successful first run, the critically acclaimed rock musical Next to Normal, will again star Broadway veteran Jessica Hendy as Diana Goodman.  The rest of the original Ensemble cast will return as well, except for the role of Dan which will be played by Bruce Cromer, making this show a must-see.  I saw the show the first time and am really looking forward to seeing it again and taking friends that missed it the first time.  Don't miss this second opportunity to see an amazing show with a talented cast and crew.

You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown presented by The Falcon Theater - June 1st thru June 9th  http://falcontheater.net

Part of the Falcon Gives Back series, a $5 discount is available for donating a blanket for Project Linus, a charity that provides blankets to children who are ill or otherwise in need.

The Second City 2: Less Pride...More Pork presented by Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park - now thru July 1st  http://www.cincyplay.com

The Second City, Chicago's renowned comedy and improvisational theatre, returns with another hilarious show written just for Cincinnati.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) presented by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company - June 8th thru June 30th  http://www.cincyshakes.com

Come see how three actors, Billy Chace, Travis McElroy and Nick Rose, manage Shakespeare's entire canon in one evening.  From the website: "Audiences will follow along as they careen wildly through all the comedies, histories and tragedies using a trunkful of props, wigs, and ridiculous costumes."

And with the World Choir Games also bringing thousands of the world's best singers to downtown Cincinnati from July 4-14, the city has plenty of options for summer fun!
