Comedian and actor Andre Hyland (Fuel TV, MTV-X, and "Funny or Die") will bring his raucous, reality TV-style humor to Cincinnati in the form of "The Jesse Miller Talk Show: 513 Christmas" for one performance only on Friday, December 23.

The hyper-hip, energy drink-guzzling Miller is one of several characters created by Hyland, a Cincinnati native now living in Los Angeles, where he regularly performs sketch comedy and satirical concerts to sold-out clubs.

Hyland describes "The Jesse Miller Talk Show" as a cross between "The Colbert Report" and "Ali-G," hosted by Miller, a tough-talker who looks, and acts, like a "Jerry Springer" reject. Miller offers streetwise commentary while asking guests and audience members hilariously inappropriate questions. The show has attracted a cult following through sold-out performances at the famed Improv Comedy Lab in Hollywood, in addition to appearances on Fuel TV, "Funny or Die" and YouTube.

"Jesse likes to have a good time, and that rubs off on people," Hyland said. "He likes girls, Hollywood and partying hard. I think most people have known a Jesse or two, maybe from high school, or he could easily be someone who hangs out in front of the convenience store."

Hyland saw plenty of Jesse Millers while growing up in the Midwest, but it wasn't until he moved to Los Angeles that the idea for the character started to take shape.
"The real Hollywood you don't see on TV is filled with people like Jesse, from all over the world," he said.

"The Jesse Miller Talk Show" often includes guests such as stand-up comedians, musicians, actors or filmmakers. Past guests have included: Nick Tune ("Conan"), Bob Odenkirk ("SNL," "Mr. Show", "Breaking Bad"), TJ Miller (Comedy Central), Har Mar Superstar ("Jimmy Kimmel Live") Nate Corrdy ("The Daily Show," "Harry's Law") and Matt Braunger ("Mad TV"). Guests for the December 23 show will include Josiah Wolf and Liz Hodson of the indie rock band Why? (Anticon Records).

Hyland is currently in negotiations with an undisclosed network to bring "The Jesse Miller Talk Show" to national television, in association with Hothouse Productions and RZO Management, in Los Angeles. Previously, he produced and starred in a pilot for Comedy Central ("The Untitled Andre Hyland Project") with Bob Odenkirk executive producing. Although that show did not get picked up, network executives were impressed, and the experience opened new doors for Hyland.

"Jesse is a kickass idiot to watch," Odenkirk said.

Since arriving in Hollywood six years ago, Hyland has been attracting attention by producing and starring in a long line of video shorts and high-energy stage shows. In a profile of one of his many characters, an overly zealous youth minister named Tracy Marune, LA Weekly callEd Hyland a "human ball of hellfire." Meanwhile, the entertainment site LAist.com called "The Jesse Miller Talk Show" a "striking example of just how good character work in Los Angeles can be."

"The Jesse Miller Talk Show: 513 Christmas" will take place Friday, December 23 at 8:30 p.m. at YES Gallery, 1417 Main Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. Admission is free. For more information, call (513) 519-9542. Information about Andre Hyland is available at www.BlondChili.com.

"The show is way more entertaining than any description that I can come up with," Hyland said. "Just go see it, and I 99 percent guarantee you will enjoy it."
