The Know Theatre of Cincinnati will present Jason Loewith and Joshua Schmidt's ADDING MACHINE: A MUSICAL from February 13-March 6.

This musical adaptation of Elmer Rice's 1923 play is a heartbreaking tale of the life of middle-class worker, Mr. Zero. After 25 years of service to his company he is replaced by a mechanical adding machine and in a vengeful rage, murders his boss. Zero arrives at an afterlife in the Elysian Fields where he is forced to decide his fate for eternity. The angelic and remarkably eclectic score gives each character a unique voice for their hopes, dreams, and failures as they wander through their monotonous and darkly comic lives.

The production will be directed by Michael Burnham with musical direction by Alan Patrick Kenny. ADDING MACHINE: A MUSICAL will feature a creative team including Andrew Hungerford (scenic design), Dough Borntrager (sound design), Josh Mansker (lighting design), and Susan Neason (costume design). The cast will feature Aretta Baumgartner, Ken Early, Beth Harris, Joshua Murphy, Robert Pavlovich, Rich Roedersheimer, Liz Vosmeier, Blythe Walker, and Chris Wesselman.

An Opening Night Party will be hosted on February 13 at 7pm with food provided by Mixx Ultra Lounge, gelato provided by Madisono's Gelato, and a beer tasting provided by Christian Moerlein.
