Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative Presents Staged Reading of GRANT'S WISH Tonight

Sent to preside over its demise, the manager of the shabby, but historic, Silver Swan Inn (a formerly elegant small-town Indiana stopover) instead falls in love with the place and with a local lady lawyer in Ted Pollard's Grant's Wish, Cincinnati Playwrights Initiative's (CPI) staged reading tonight, October 14, 2014, 7:30 p.m. at the Aronoff Center for the Arts' Fifth Third Bank Theater.

Tickets for Grant's Wish are $8.00 and are currently on sale at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office. Tickets may also be purchased at the Fifth Third Bank Theater the night of the show (October 14).

Manager Lee Nieman must contend with a company of eccentrics, including an English accountant, an inept maintenance man, and a 95-year-old, last-of-his-tribe Amerindian, who, like a couple of older ladies, has a vested, sometimes colliding interest in the haunted Swan. Not until the last moment is the fate of the place determined.

Walnut Hills High School graduate Ted Pollard is retired after a career of writing and editorial duties with the Kansas City Star, the (late) St. Louis Post-Democrat, and the Denver Post. He was also financial editor of the Middletown (OH) Journal-News, and handled media relations for Trans-World Airlines.

Pollard currently resides in Middletown with his wife and son.
