In addition to welcoming superstar pianist Lang Lang on Wednesday, Sept. 21, the CSO will also perform this week with critically and popularly acclaimed violinistHilary Hahn on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24 at the Taft Theatre.
Once a child prodigy and now one of the most popular soloists performing today, Hilary Hahn regularly performs with, tours and records with the world's top orchestras. She tweets under the guise of her violin case (@violincase), giving insights into life on the road.
Ms. Hahn will perform Beethoven's powerful violin concerto, a work requiring technical skill and stamina from the performer, in addition to musical interpretation. Also on the program, conducted by CSO Music Director Louis Langrée, is Schumann's Fourth Symphony, a work originally written for the composer's wife, Clara.
The performance on Friday, Sept. 23 will also be the first of a series of concert experiences known as Friday Orange. The curated concert experience, this week with guest curator Ricardo Mesina (hip hop dancer, choreographer and designer), features live entertainment and other unique experiences in a unique lounge area at the Taft.
