City Lit Theater Company presents a World-Premiere adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s The Sundial; an eerie, wickedly comic novel which served as a point of inspiration for Stephen King’s The Shining opens on the evening of the funeral of Lionel Halloran. His wife is convinced that Lionel was pushed down the stairs and murdered by his mother, who now stands to inherit the Halloran mansion, a house which is itself a character in the story. Constructed by Lionel, it is laid out perfectly symmetrically, as are the grounds and garden. Only the sundial stands off-center, bearing the inscription: WHAT IS THIS WORLD?
