Theatre L’Acadie opens its 5th season with the New Works Series, featuring original plays by BIPOC, queer, and non-binary artists. Among the featured works is Curtis Lawrence's The Kings Are Dead, directed by David Adams, with performance readings scheduled for late April and early May. Other plays in the series include works by Makeda M. Declet, Emma Durbin, and Kevin Blair, all highlighting diverse narratives from local playwrights. The series aims to foster audience engagement and support the Chicago Theatre community through workshops and feedback sessions.
