Where singer/songwriter and Broadway show-tunes meet, you’ll find Kaitlyn Davis! The Jeff Award nominated star of Marriott Theatre’s record-breaking BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL returns in an intimate evening of music covering her favorite pianists turned Broadway icons. Exploring how much magic can be made from the piano bench and backed by a dynamite band led by music director Christopher Sargent. Marriott Theatre will present SONGS FROM THE BENCH: KAITLYN DAVIS IN CONCERT at two performances only – Monday, November 18 at 7:30 pm and Tuesday, November 19 at 1 pm. Davis’ performance in BEAUTIFUL, in which she accompanied herself on piano live on stage, earned her a Jeff Award nomination, recognition as one of the top three theatrical performances of the year by the CHICAGO TRIBUNE, and numerous critical raves. The CHICAGO TRIBUNE’s Chris Jones wrote, “Davis had some very talented Broadway actresses to follow in the lead of this Carole King jukebox musical….But she had one additional asset in her toolbox: the ability to play live piano throughout the show. Add in her formidable vocal and acting chops and this became an extraordinarily fine performance.”
