Based out of Chicago, Elizabeth Morgan’s She’s Folks! is a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n’ roll, a little bit stand-up and a lot Midwestern. Journey from the big city to farm country and back again through folk music, gospel, bluegrass and storytelling. With a relaxed stage presence and storytelling style, Morgan and her band introduce the audience to quirky characters, absurd situations, and touching observations, touching on holidays and weathering the Midwestern storms.
The music of She’s Folks! combines original pieces by creator, Elizabeth Morgan, with arrangements of traditional folk and bluegrass tunes, and selected covers of country music. We include an exciting gospel medley as well as a cappella pieces with impressive harmonies. She’s Folks! explore the theme of home and the adventures of a formerly rural girl now residing in the big city. She’s Folks! has heart, soul and a goat story. It’s a love letter to the country from a kid who couldn’t wait to leave!
