Jackalope Theatre partners with Night Out in the Parks to tour a festival of music and short plays inspired by community submitted stories. Amplifying Chicago Parks Cultural Asset Mapping Project, Jackalope pairs local storytellers from the Edgewater, East Side, and Humboldt Park neighborhoods with playwrights, directors, and actors to share hyper-local short plays with hyper-local audiences. Presented with live music on a pop-up stage, Neighborhood Narratives is a celebration of the parks and people that surround Chicago.Neighborhood Narratives features plays with direction by Stephanie Shum, Monet Felton*, and Xavier Retana. The creative team includes Ryan Emens* (Scenic Design), Aaron Stephenson (Sound Design), Silent Marvin (Music), Pearl Cookie Reid (Festival Host). The production Stage Manager is Anna Brockway. In accordance with Be Safe Chicago Guidelines for Parks and Recreation Activities, participants in this activity will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while participating. Patrons who are exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home and join us for an event when symptoms subside.
