Ne-Yo has sold some 20+ million adjusted albums worldwide, winning three Grammy Awards among 14 nominations along the way. His current single, “What If,” produced by Ebenezer and Magnus Klausen with vocals by Curtis “Sauce” Wilson, follows a 2020 collaboration with Jeremih on “U 2 Luv.” His first single, 2005’s “So Sick,” topped the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified quadruple platinum, and then the hits kept rolling—including “Sexy Love,” “Closer,” “Because of You,” “Miss Independent,” and “Push Back” featuring Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don.
He has proven to be as powerful with his pen as he is in the recording studio and on stage. The Las Vegas native quickly became known as a go-to hitmaker, penning Rihanna’s “Unfaithful,” “Russian Roulette,” and “Take a Bow,” along with Beyoncé’s 2006 breakup anthem “Irreplaceable” and songs for such artists as Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Carrie Underwood, and Celine Dion. In addition to World of Dance, Ne-Yo has been featured on screen in Save the Last Dance 2, Battle: Los Angeles, Stomp the Yard, George Lucas’s Red Tails, Empire, The Wiz Live!, and Step Up: High Water—now in his third season on Starz.
