The young Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev, with many awards and honors to his credit, continues to astound and mesmerize audiences at major venues on three continents. The New York Times raved, "Mr. Yakushev can do just about anything he wants . . . superb. Highlights of the concert will be Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," which Mr. Yakushev will accompany with a video depicting the paintings that inspired the music; Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" (perhaps the most famous piece ever written for piano); and Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," which is almost never heard in solo recital.Friday, April 5, 2019 7:30 P.M.Tickets $30www.MetropolisArts.comBox Office: 847-577-2121
