Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, the award-winning classic Guys and Dolls gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway. This 1950 Tony Award-winner for Best Musical is based on short stories by American author Damon Runyon. New Yorks most infamous crap game organizer, Nathan Detroit, hoping for a big pay day, challenges notorious gambler Sky Masterson to a bet hes sure hell win: take mission girl Sarah Brown to dinner in Havana, Cuba. Sky accepts and pursues the known prude, seemingly hopelessly, while Nathan deals with his own situation - his 14-year fiance, Adelaide, who's tired of waiting for a wedding.

When bets and love seem at odds, the characters are called to question their priorities to make things right.Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.Frank Loesser's brassy, immortal score, and most memorable tunes, including the hilarious Adelaides Lament, the romantic Ive Never Been in Love Before, the exuberant If I Were a Bell, and the classic Luck Be a Lady, makes Guys and Dolls a crowd pleaser. When it opened on Broadway in 1950, it won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. With three more Broadway revivals, it has cemented itself as a staple of American musicals. It is based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, an American author and reporter who favored tales about the seedier happenings of Broadway.

Cutting Hall Performing Arts Centre is a facility owned and operated by Palatine Park District. As a government agency the Park District follows the guidance set forth by the Illinois Department of Public Health, Cook County Department of Public Health, and the Governors Office.
