This fantastical story of a young student tortured by a Machiavellian entity that has developed in his mind unfolds between the limits of imagination and madness.  Living in a virtual world facilitated by an interface, a boy takes on the killing of "zombie hitmen" as his sole objective in a video game mission.  As his killer instincts develop and he is increasingly sleep-deprived, hallucinations will lead him to the realm of death.

The Zombie Awakening is an unpublished monologue written for Los Pinches Chamacos by Mexican author and playwright Javier Malpica. This literary material explores the universe of fantastical narrative and the theme of mental disorders in relation to video games and digital platforms; It is an introspection into the mystery of death which becomes an initiatory journey and a philosophical exercise about the digitized society in the XXI century.
