William Inge's classic tale of optimism, romance, and loneliness gets a fresh reboot in the Chicago ensemble tradition. Long time Chicago actress Lia Mortensen and SiNNERMAN Ensemble's Ryan Martin are joining forces for their directorial debuts in the first production to be housed at The Den, a brand new non-equity theatre / performance venue hybrid in Wicker Park.
Originally produced in 1955 and directed by Harold Clurman, Bus Stop is a snapshot of one night where locals and travelers are stranded together at a bus stop diner in Kansas. With personalities that are still very real in the fabric of America, Bus Stop is a vibrant, sentimental reminder of the humanity realized through unintended encounters and chance interaction.
